Description

Touch-Plate Zone-RP closet relay power pack is a complete relay and power supply in one making it a great stand-alone solution for any lighting or fan load that needs to be controlled when a door is opened. These single-point maintained control solutions can be used in classic homes, hospitals, hotels, or other projects requiring remotely installed relays. It should be used with currently installed door latching system.

Remcon Retrofits

These power packs can be used to replace old RC-120 or RC-120S closet relay transformers to get your internal cabinet lights working again. This Touch Plate closet door relay power pack should be installed on its own circuit, so be sure the switch is connected only to the local closet door switch and is not connected to a master panel (with Remcon relays); ensure there are no shared common wires. too. Note that installing on a separate circuit means that Touch Plate relays and power packs must not be connected to any other Remcon relays or any shared common wires. Being on a breaker together is fine because the breaker is just providing the line voltage to everything that needs power.  It’s the low voltage that they can’t share.

Please note the size of this unit as it is larger than the old Remcon units and may need to be installed next to the junction box instead of inside it.

Installation

The switch wire and common wire will connect to the closet switch (because it is also 2 wire just connect red to orange/white to white). Most likely there are no pilot lights on these switches, so the blue wire would just be capped off.

Turn off power before installing replacement. Improper connection of power leads will result in permanent damage. Recheck your connections before turning on AC power to line.

Note: Wiring follows historical Touch-Plate colors: blue for LED status output, orange for cycle switch, and white for both commons.
