Touch-Plate 5000 Series Control Stations
Elegant and simple, Touch-Plate's original 5000 series lighting control units come in single gang configurations with 1, 2 or 3 buttons. Each switch has a separate common wire.
The 5002 unit (with 2 buttons - pictured in center of image at left) can be used to replace 1 discontinued GE, Bryant or Remcon switch.
Older vintage 5000 series units may look like this on the back although the wire colors could vary. There was no standard color, so old wires might be teal, green, black, purple, etc. But the wires connected to each individual button were the switch wires, and the wire connected to the bracket was the common. (On new versions there is a separate white common wire attached to each switch.)
These units protrude 1/4" from the wall and are recessed 1/2".
Touch Plate's white finishes vary. The 5000 series is an off-white finish that isn't as bright a white as the Ultra series switches.
The 5000 series is a match to the white of the Genesis and Classic control stations.
Almond and ivory finishes are also available.
5000 series units with 2 buttons (5002 units) can replace 1 Remcon light switch.
Each old Remcon switch must be replaced by 2 Touch Plate switches (on and off buttons).
