Sierra brand low voltage light switches are no longer manufactured.
The replacement switches sold here are made by Pass & Seymour - and only available in white, ivory and gray (no longer in brown). The gray switches are special order.
These new momentary low voltage light switches (3 amps, 24 volts AC-DC) are only for use with copper wiring.
Each switch features 3 quick connect terminals on the back for easy installation.
These replacement switches for old Sierra systems fit into Despard style switch plates and mounting straps as well as light switch covers from old Uniline systems (produced by Bryant Electric).
Replacement low voltage Sierra switches work with horizontal Despard mounting straps for up to three switches and vertical mounting brackets for a single switch.
Your home may also have other Despard switches and outlets, including 120V Despard toggle switches, outlets, or pilot lights. These devices fit into the same mounting bracket and Despard style of switch plate.
For other replacement options, see our Sierra Low Voltage Lighting Systems and Replacement Parts FAQ and information page.
Mounting low voltage Despard switches in straps is simple when you follow these instructions.
First, locate the curved edges along the side of the strap and note they face up, not down as you might expect.
Use a screwdriver to bend and pinch the edge of the metal strap inward just enough so that the Despard light switch is held snugly in place. (Note that the outlets in the photos are typically line voltage devices.)
