What color electrical switches look best with chrome wall plates?
Because of its highly reflective surface, polished chrome switch plates pick up the surrounding colors of the room so the deciding factor may be your furnishings. While black, gray or white electrical switches and outlets will all look good with chrome light switch covers, we suggest looking around your home to decide what the overall feel is then choose accordingly. If your room features black and chrome furniture and black electronics, then black may be your best choice. If your room is very bright with light paint colors and accessories, then white might be the right option. If you want the switches to blend with the chrome plates to remain as neutral as much as possible, then we recommend gray electrical outlets and switches.

What is the finish on these chrome light switch covers?
These popular shiny silver decorative wall plates and outlet covers are made from sturdy .030" steel with a beautiful mirror polish finish.
They are lighter and brighter and more reflective than the polished stainless steel plates that we carry.
What are the visible lines along the edges of chrome plates?
Our popular polished chrome face plates have a standard beveled edge with fine lines right where the plate rests against the wall (see image). The edging in the photo is a normal result of the manufacturing process because the metal sheet is plated with the shiny finish before being stamped and formed. Typically the edges are not noticeable once they have been installed.
I'd like to purchase mirrored switch plates however I'm afraid that I will have to clean them frequently. What is the difference between mirror finish and polished chrome switch plates and would they look classy in a dining room?
The main difference between polished chrome and mirror finish wall plates is that you can clearly see your reflection in mirrored plates whereas polished chrome is slightly less reflective and are less maintenance. Over the years my decor style has shifted more and more towards shabby chic. I am now at the point where I would like to replace my switch plate covers to match each room and my friend recommended going with a polished chrome finish. Does this finish look tasteful with shabby chic furnishings?
Polished chrome is one of the most popular options for our customers who decorate in a shabby chic style. For those who do not like or want distressed, mirrored or antique white switch covers, polished chrome is a lovely option because it is not as shiny and reflective as mirrored plates and requires less cleaning. This finish accents a variety of decorative styles including shabby chic, art deco, retro and Scandinavian.
For what types of commercial locations would you recommend this finish?
This finish is a popular choice for commercial kitchens, retro diners, body shops, warehouses and any 50s inspired space.
