Specialty double throw electrical switches with maintained contact or momentary contact for wall switch plates used in residential and commercial installations.
Maintained switches (double pole double throw or DPDT) will stay in the on or off position until returned to the neutral center position.
Momentary contact switches will open or close a circuit (turn light or equipment on or off) making temporary contact only when it is pushed. You would hold the switch in the OUT/UP or IN/DOWN position until the desired position is reached then release the switch so it can return to the center-off position. Momentary switches are typically used for controlling automatic curtains, movable drapery, skylights, projection screens, etc.
