Shop for new GE low voltage lighting switches, replacement RCS switch plates, relays and new parts for updating your older low volt wiring system that was installed in homes the 1950's and 1960's.
This durable spec grade series of General Electric low voltage switch plates was originally designed for use with their line of RCS low voltage switches installed in the '70s as well as in off-grid electrical systems such as boats, motorhomes, and RV's.
Currently available in a modern stainless steel finish, these spec grade wall plates for 1, 2 or 3 devices work with GE RCS switches and Anderson Power Products.
These specification grade stainless steel switch plates are regularly stocked at Kyle Switch Plates. Place your order online and they'll ship out in 1 to 2 business days.
Specification grade low voltage plates come in configurations for one, two or three large frame-mounted devices. They have large, rectangular openings that measure .906" tall by 1.25" across. On 2-hole plates, switch openings are 1.75" apart. On all plates, screw holes are spaced 3-13/16" center to center.
The look of spec grade low voltage wall plate series is very similar to decora rocker style switch covers - please be sure of which you need.
Differences: The device opening on a spec grade plate has sharp right angle corners whereas decora style plates have rounded (radial) corners. The opening on the specification grade plate is slightly taller and narrower than the decora switch openings. The 3-device spec grade wall plate has an opening of 1.25" W by 2.656" H. A standard GFCI decora rocker opening measures 1.312" W by 2.625" H.
Specification grade low voltage cover plates are compatible with Anderson Power Products, such as the Anderson PowerPole 1452G1 switch as shown at left.
Note that when spec grade switch plates are used with Anderson brand switches, the switch itself does not sit flush with the plate but rather sits approximately 1/16" above its surface.
Since 1982, Kyle Switch Plates (formerly Kyle Design) has been an established knowledge base for vintage low voltage lighting systems manufactured by General Electric, Remcon, Bryant and Touch-Plate during the mid-century. Though many low volt systems are now obsolete, we stock genuine, brand new low voltage replacement switches and switch plates that are compatible with older remote control lighting set-ups and offer helpful wiring diagrams for these devices where available.
