Description
GE Low Voltage Control Switch + 9 Selector Dial Wall Plates for GE or Bryant Low Voltage System
Freshen up your vintage GE circuit controller. This is a new replacement for a GE RMS-2A GE wall plate with ON-OFF switch and dial-type circuit selector. Those original electrical devices control up to 9 relays or motor-master controls either individually or in a group and are found in older homes with low voltage wiring. This switchplate works with vintage GE or Bryant mini rocker switches which are typically ridged brown or smooth ivory.
Note: If using a discontinued RS23X type GE replacement switch (no longer available) with this controller be sure that you can easily push it into the yoke/bracket that is holding the current switch. We don't have an old controller for testing purposes so we don't know how tight a fit a new switch would be. Do not jam an RS23X switch into the bracket: doing so it could cause the buttons to stick and burn out your relay. If necessary you might need to file the bracket opening to enlarge it for holding the new switch. (The RS23X switch may stick out slightly more than the old ones, but the new cover will fit exactly around the buttons on a new switch if you are able to use it.) If your discontinued switch does not properly fit, it is better to take a working vintage switch from another location in your home and then replace the swapped out one with the new low volt light plates and updated GE switches.

REPLACEMENT KNOB: Need a replacement knob, too? The Lutron dimmer knob fits fairly well - it doesn't push all the way down but it does fit snuggly so that you can turn your controller to the correct position. (Note that the GE light dimmer knobs are too small for these controls - the Lutron knob fits best.)
ALTERNATIVE SOLUTION: If no other working switch is available, then the unit must be replaced with a 3-gang box and the 9-Switch Central Control Station.
